New dashboard for project managers

A dashboard that brings all project data into one clear overview has long been at the top of project managers' wish lists – and now it’s here!

The dashboard was developed in collaboration with our users to ensure it meets the daily project management needs of project managers. We spoke to two of the users who participated in the development process to hear what they think about the dashboard, and how they will use it: Read their feedback further down.

First, a quick explanation of what the dashboard is:

Get instant insight into project status

The new dashboard in Milient gives you immediate insight into key metrics, such as billing rate and registered hours compared to estimated hours. The most important figures are marked with traffic light colours, so you can instantly see where things are on track and where action is needed.

If you want to see what the dashboard looks like, you can explore it in our interactive demo further down.

The dashboard was designed for project managers, and we worked closely with users from both architecture and engineering firms to ensure their needs were met. The feedback we received throughout the process helped create a tool that is both intuitive and effective from day one.

Mestergruppen (1)

Bethina Kulseth, Quality Manager at Mestergruppen, contributed to the dashboard development process.

At Mestergruppen Architects, they work with many small projects, often with tight deadlines and quick deliveries. For project managers, having an efficient way to track project status and resource usage is crucial. Here are her thoughts on the new dashboard:

What is the most useful aspect of the dashboard?

"It looks great, and it’s long-awaited! Finally, we have a clear overview of our overall progress. The overview of registered versus estimated hours and the billable rate is particularly important for us."

Which features are most valuable?
  • The three key metrics at the top of the dashboard provide a quick status update on the projects.
  • Registered hours vs. estimated hours helps us see how we’re tracking against the planned time.
  • Billable hours – having a clear view of the billing rate makes it easier to act when adjustments are needed.
How will you use it?

"We’ll start with a smaller group and use the dashboard as a tool for training project managers. It provides the overview they need right away. We’ll also integrate it into our routines and workflows, making it a natural part of our daily follow-up."

At Evotek, they are 24 consultants specialising in energy use in buildings, offering services in energy management, control and regulation, multidisciplinary technical consulting, and project/construction phases.

Espen handles everything from invoicing to revenue recognition and highlights the need for quick insights into financial and project status. Here are his thoughts on the dashboard:

How does the dashboard help you in your work?

"The dashboard is easy to use. It provides a quick and simple overview of the most important parameters, making it easier for us to keep track of project performance."

Which features do you like best?
  • Overdue invoices – easier to follow up on payments and avoid delays.
  • Billable hours – very useful to gain insights.
  • Absence overview – helpful to see who is present and who is out sick.
What was it like being part of the development process?

"It’s very rewarding to be involved. I use Moment extensively and appreciate being able to provide input. The meetings in the User Council give good insights into ongoing work and are not just a wish list."
