Inside Milient’s 2025 User Group: Innovation, Insight & Community

On May 15th, the Milient UK team hosted a User Group in London, bringing together a group of active Knowledge Portal users for a day full of collaboration, insight, and shared learning.

More Than a Meeting: What a Milient User Group Really Means

A User Group is more than just a meeting, it’s a chance for Milient customers to come together, share experiences and feedback, and gain fresh insight into how our tools are being used to solve real-world challenges.

Hosting User Groups gives our community a platform to connect, exchange knowledge, and provide feedback that directly shapes our product roadmap. For our customers, it’s a chance to see how others are using Milient, gather ideas to improve their own processes, and help shape the future of our tools through direct input.

A Day Full of Insight and Collaboration

The day brought together an inspiring mix of architecture and engineering practices using Milient every day.

After a warm welcome and a recap of the year by our leadership team, we shared exciting updates about our growing portfolio and recent product releases. The spotlight then shifted to our community, with a series of presentations from customers showcasing real-world use cases and fresh ideas.

Learning from Each Other: Stories from the Milient Community

One of the highlights of the event was hearing directly from our users. Through a series of engaging presentations, they shared how Milient is helping them solve real problems, enhance team workflows, and unlock new opportunities across their organisations.

Here’s what they shared:

Adam Architecture: Digital Journey

Presented by Wayne Reakes and Hannah Jehan

Wayne and Hannah shared their digital transformation journey, from the challenges of dispersed knowledge, hybrid working, and disconnected communication tools, to the successful launch of their Milient Knowledge Portal. With structured knowledge-sharing now in place, they’ve built a central resource hub that’s improving engagement and access across locations.

Corstorphine & Wright: Use of Moblie

Presented by Sarah Breedon and Imogen Coane

Sarah and Imogen showcased how they tailored their Milient platform for mobile use, creating an app-like experience for their teams on the go. From brochures and project maps to employee directories, their curated mobile view ensures fast, fingertip access to key information during business meetings and networking events.

Scott Brownrigg: Managing Events in Knowledge Portal

Presented by Simon Jardine

Simon walked us through how Scott Brownrigg uses Milient’s Knowledge Portal to manage events more efficiently. With integrations across their tech stack (including Deltek PIM), they’ve streamlined the capture, reporting, and visibility of internal and external events, including CPD sessions. With Version 25.0’s improved event features, they now have more control and better attendee insights than ever before.

Gateley Smithers Purslow: Utilising New Questionnaire Feature

Presented by Ellen Fraser and Sandy Thompson

Ellen and Sandy gave us a fantastic example of how Milient's new Questionnaire feature is being used in a creative and impactful way. Their weekly “happiness rating” pop-up allows staff to share how they’re feeling, helping managers monitor morale and workload in real time. It’s a perfect example of how small changes in tech can lead to big cultural wins.

Introducing Knowledge Portal 25.0

Our product team also highlighted some powerful new features released with Knowledge Portal 25.0, including:

  • Events Improvements: Greater visibility and control of attendees, including sign-ups, decline options, and view tracking.
  • Usage Tracking: A new dashboard for tracking engagement trends, inactive users, and search behaviour.
  • Questionnaires: Brand-new functionality for gathering structured feedback, ideal for check-ins, surveys, and quick polls.
  • Trigger Enhancements: Easier configuration and clearer rule logic for automated tasks and project updates.

  • Interface Updates: Refreshed branding, smarter navigation, and an improved search box to make Milient even easier to use.

Key Feedback from the Day

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 and 100% of respondents open to joining future events. Guests praised the improved venue, well-paced agenda, and valuable networking opportunities over lunch.

The customer use cases and product spotlights were particularly well received, with several attendees expressing interest in future working groups and feature design sessions. While most felt the information provided on current features and the roadmap was sufficient, a few welcomed even more insight into what’s ahead.

Overall, the event delivered a strong mix of inspiration, collaboration, and practical takeaways.
